Welcome to the Clinton Fire Department Website, I have the privilege of serving as the Fire Chief of one of the most dedicated paid on call departments in the Country.

We have 27 dedicated paid on call personnel who are trained to fit our department and community needs in the fire and medical service. We cover day time with two eight hour shifts with personnel provided from our paid on call personnel.

Safety is in the forefront of our thinking when it involves our personnel and customers, we attempt to the very best of our abilities to make our workplace as safe as possible, in the station, to and from the incident, and when on the scene.

When one takes on the responsibility of a fire department and personnel you also take on the responsibility of their family and friends. They also are counting on you to make their loved ones as safe as possible.

We have a training program that rotates through a three year period so that we cover all required and necessary training topics. We cover the required Safety Training once a year, topics such as Firefighter Right to Know, Employee Right to Know, Blood-borne and Air-Borne Pathogens, Confined Space Awareness, Trench Awareness, Lock-out / Tag-out, and MIOSHA Safety Training.

We also train on the topics required in structural firefighting, vehicle fires and extrication, and hazardous material procedures. We attempt to bring in as much outside training as possible with topics such as farm equipment rescue, anhydrous ammonia incidents, farm safety issues, propane gas emergencies, flashover simulator, vehicle airbag restraints class, alternative fuel vehicles, and electrical emergencies.

One of our neighboring departments completed their fire training center this year in 2007 and we will be visiting the center often starting in the new training schedule in 2008.

We are very active in our Community as well, providing medical coverage at local sporting events such as Elementary, Middle School, and High School Football Games. We host the Annual Halloween Trick or Trick Open House; Annual Santa is coming to Town with the local Chamber Group. In the summer we participate in our local Safety Town Activities, we also visit our local Elementary School during Fire Prevention Week.

Our members provide CPR Classes as needed for our local Community Organizations, Schools and Citizens.

I hope you have and will enjoy your visit to our Website and as you return in the future we will have updated information for you to enjoy.

Thank You,

A Few Quotes:

"Focus on the hundred little things that go right in a day, instead of the three or four things that go wrong."

"Look for the good things about people not always the things you don't like."

"It's people who make a fire department; not equipment or things."

"You don't manage people, you manage things; you lead people."
